I included in the last post a page of studies of Jim Hawkins. That was for an art trade. So're these.

Dunno why green colerase. No, wait. It was the first pencil my hand touched.

I'm taking part in a challenge on Livejournal, hosted by a long time aquaintance, Karine. It's April Drawing, and the challenge is to draw something every day for the month of April. For those who need help with ideas, there are challenges posted. I decided to try today's, which was to draw at least three hands, a form of life drawing practice (nothing cartoonish). Below is my attempt, click for a larger version. Clockwise from top left: my left hand, a photo ref of Jack Sparrow, and photo ref of Gov. Swann, both from PotC.

For future posts, I'm going to consolidate a couple days' worth of images. Don't need to post more than necessary.
I've been watching Illustration Friday for a while, but this is my first time participating. This week's prompt: "snap". I think this pretty much meets it.

Yep, my head's weird. Long story short: I made a connection between the characters of a comic my friend Becky and I are working on, and my two fave characters of Teen Titans animated series. It just works, and if you're familiar with Raven and Beast Boy, then you get a pretty good idea of Mullein and Tsuba.

This is a work in progress for a pic I'd like to do in marker. It's based on a version of my Gaia online avatar. Gaia has these donation items that you can use on your avatars, and one of the ones from the last couple months is pretty much a wig that takes on variations of the four elements. I had some fun and created some variations based on the core four, and this will be the first one: fire. The finished one will be full length, but I like how this came out.
In order to get to drawing more often, I've set up a sort of appointment. The goal is to draw something every night at 11pm, after all my work is done. Right now, it's mostly ref'd sketches. Not bad, but I hope to move on to creative pieces, including fanart. Ah well. One step at a time.
