OH sketches

These are some sketches for a pair of images I've inked and that are waiting to be colored. It's been a while since I've done some drawings of these two that I like.

10 sketches: Becky and Javvie

Finally got around to the other two images from my 10 Sketches request. Proof that I am oh so rusty, and slow. *sigh*

little Flash exercise

Nothing really fancy here, just following a simple Flash animation exercise. I think it's rather cute, if pretty basic and crude.

10 sketches: Dwellerbythesea

A generic jellyfish requested on dA by "dwellerbythesea". It was rather fun to do.

100 Portraits (1/100)

I've given myself the challenge to do a hundred portraits over however long it takes to do it. I've been avoiding drawing and want to improve my skills and mental library. There will probably be a mix of media over the course of this adventure, and majority of these images will be ref'd off of something, be it a photo or screencap or a figurine/toy (yeah, some animation/anime is gonna get in her. :p ).

Here's #1. Source is Wookiestock on deviantArt.

IF Moon

The prompt was for this week's Illustration Friday was "Moon." I almost immediately thought of moon flowers, Ipomoea alba. They're related to morning glories, but bloom at night. Pretty fitting for the topic.

Materials: graphite pencil and watercolor pencils. I should play with these more often.

Performance on the Green

The Montgomery Ballet had their annual Performance on the Green, an open air performance outside the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Friday. I took it as a chance to get some sketches of the performance and the people there. Check them out.

convention drawings and fan art

I've been mildly busy since my last post. I went to Gathering of the Gargoyles in late June where we had a couple figure drawing sessions. Tricky part about it was that it was clothed, something I'm not used to, and they were relatively brief.

Below are fanart for Danny Phantom and Treasure Planet, with the later a trade for a friend of mine.

Last class!

... But not the last of my figure drawings. This is the long pose we did for last night's class, around an hour-forty minutes. Not my best, but still a sign of improvement over the last month.

Last week (part 1)

This is my last week of classes (but not of figure drawing; there are open sessions going on that I hope to attend regularly). So this and the next post have my last drawings. These are from Monday.

figure drawing class

Only have one week left for classes. These were done last night, and I'm rather pleased with the longer pose (done, with breaks, over ~1.5 hours).

1 min sketches and long pose.

first drawing class figures

I started drawing figure drawing classes yesterday, which I'm really happy about. It's been forever since I've taked a real drawing class. My teacher is Barrett Bailey, and he's pretty fun. Very willing to be a guide but lets us do our own thing. I'm gla about that.

Anywho, first night's drawings. They are 1min. gestures, 5min gestures, 15/20min drawing, and 15min drawing. (click to view)

I can dream

Today (well, technically yesterday) was the last day of the April Drawing Challenge, and all things considered. I only missed two days overall, so it's all good. In honor of my moderate success and in response to the last day's challenge I drew this. The challenge was "draw your dream," which could be any kind of dream. It's possible.
