Getting into a routine. I do some gestures, then some Loomis. Relearning how to do heads. Also did what's called a modeled drawing.

Some gestures and an attempt to follow Loomis.

back to basics

I haven't done all that many studies of late, or used much reference. To me, it feels like my art has suffered and I haven't improved. So, sometimes you've got to do the basics before going on to greater things. Hence, the simple drawings of household stuff. Expect more.

Concept art thread thumnails

These are some thumbnails for a mentoring thread I'm participating in on CA.org forums. The thread is a simulation of a concept art class, of sorts. We each pick a world based on certain themes and develop it over the next couple months. The theme I picked is an Asian based world that is mostly ocean and whose technology has not exceeded steam engines. This particular exercise is to pick and environment type and explore sections of it. I chose an academic environment and the above are thumbnails of classrooms, the entrance to the school, and the courtyard/schoolyard/gardens.

Keep an eye on how it goes.

I product of thinking up something to draw, starting off half-assed, and then being inspired and the final product turning out really well. From some photos of temple fox statues with red bibs.

Art Grind days 92 and 93

The first was inspired by a recent trip to Callaway Garden's butterfly house. Man, there were a lot of butterflies. I wanted to do some sort of updo with accessories for the second, but only managed the updo for now.
